I was surprised how many of my friends were utterly horrified by our decision and said we'd be taking away the magic from our three year old son. But like you say, when you see your child's face on Christmas day you know you have done the right thing. I told them I wasn't doing Santa because I didn't want to lie to my daughter. They think I'm insane. I allow her to watch Santa movies and such I just don't do the whole Santa brings the gifts so you'd better be good. She is not even one though so I don't know what the huge deal isAudreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14806901627129125113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967358197990347795.post-60148411675612499412012-12-27T22:27:30.565-05:002012-12-27T22:27:30.565-05:00Growing up with 2 older brothers who were 10 and 7...Growing up with 2 older brothers who were 10 and 7 years older, I don't know if I ever believed in Santa for very long. "Santa" gave us one gift by the fire place and a stocking. The gifts under the tree were always from family. I love your homemade doll house. So sweet. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967358197990347795.post-41567132766154059612012-12-27T19:37:05.819-05:002012-12-27T19:37:05.819-05:00Zia found a stuffed horse in her stocking, too. We tell her that he's pretend, and she seems slightly disappointed, but after the presents appeared under the tree, she was convinced that he must be real. Maybe she'll understand better next year when she's four! LOL

I agree, there's no need to tell our kids that something is real when it's Jesus who we should be pointing to on Christmas. We do the fictional side of Santa though. Like you, there's lots of "pretend" that we do around here.Beckihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06858793724547501049noreply@blogger.com
