An Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ January 28th-February 1st ~ Animals in Winter

This week, we studied Animals in Winter!  The children learned how various animals handle the cold months and the lack of food.  They learned the word hi-ber-nate and loved telling others what it means!

We used two books for this week: Animals' Winter Sleep and Animals in Winter.

The childre enjoyed painting wooden bears!

The children drew trees and added in stickers of squirrels and foxes.

A glimpse of Table Time!

Our last project of the week!  The children were given several strips of stiff "felt" to make a winter tree.  Next we hot glued a little wad of crinkly brown paper saved from a package (I knew I would use it some day!!) to make a squirrel nest, high up in the tree.  Then the children added squirrel and acorn stickers to show how the squirrels save and hide nuts for the long winter.

Just about every cold day we play with playdough!

Be sure to check "Our Favorites" book-widget on the right.  You will find our weekly books there!
If you click through to Amazon and purchase a book, I will earn a commission.
I haven't received any money yet, but there is always hope!

  12. What a Great idea to do during Winter. If it was not already Spring I would do it now, but it is, so I will save this idea and use it next year ;)
My kids also love play doh too! My youngest more than my youngest now a days, but still they both play with it.
~> Question, how do you get that Amazon thing you have, where you get money if someone purchases a book via it? I think that is a Great idea. I mean even if you make a lil, its better than nothing!

    TIA :)
