~About~

My name is Hannah. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Kyle. We have three daughters. Bunny (4), Squirrelly (2), and Mousey (born in October). My mom is my best friend and mentor. We are very much alike in many ways. Actually, my mom, my dad, my younger sister, my husband, our girls, and myself all live together. It works well for us since both sets of families have common goals. We enoy each others compny and find we can live simpler this way. It also enables Kyle and I to rent out our old house to my sister and her children (Actually, that was the initial reason we moved out).

I am a creative creature. Writing is one of my passions. I hope to publish a book someday, but this blog will do for now. When I was young, my grandma taught me how to sew, and as an adult I love it when I find time to sew a dress for one of my girls. I like to crochet, but dont have the patience for much more than a hat. Baby hats are my favorite. I also dabble in pretty much anything else crafty.

I would be considered "crunchy" by most people. We had our last two daughters at home (the hospital was no fun at all with our first).  We breastfeed, cloth diaper, co-sleep, and baby wear. Im into alternative medicine such as essential oils and homeopathics. I love to bake paleo desserts and eat whole foods. We also homeschool, which I refer to as liveschooling because we never stop learning. It is a lifelong, every moment of everyday proccess.

Last but not least, we are Jesus followers, though we're not typical Christians. I have seen and done some amazing thing through Jesus. It is a relationship, not a religion choice.

    1. Thank you for the "well done". We consciously have worked toward this goal for many years (even as teens) and continue to try to live our lives in a way that allows this lifestyle.

  6. Christ centred or not, your life sounds idyllic! I'm guessing you're based in America? What a wonderful upbringing for your children and the children that you care for in your playschool. I've popped over from Country Kids on Coombe Mill to see your linked post but had to come and read about you as I was intrigued to the background to the photos.

    Excellent work mama!

  8. What is baby wear and attatchment parent? I did the co sleep. And slept easier at night knowing they were safe and sound. Now they are almost 20 and 21. Time has flown by.

  9. Baby wearing is wearing you baby either in a carrier, sling, or wrap. I baby wear rather than using a stroller, and rather than holding my baby in my arms when I am busy. Attachment parenting just means that I believe that children and parents were meant to be together. "Attached" as much as possible. Baby wearing co-sleeping, and breastfeeding are all ways (and their are many other ways as well) of providing our children (and ourselves) with the kind of connection we need to thrive.

  10. Dear Hannah,
I admire and love the way you and your family members are living in such a simple life. I live in Bangalore, India and am a software professional. Since childhood I have been a simple person and long for a simple country life. We live in a metropolitan city, Bangalore, and our life is far from anything simple. Inspite of such a fast paced, loan filled life, i try to make my life simple and try to teach the same to my daughter(4 year old). My daughter is an angel and I am learning so much from her.
Once again, it was inspirirng reading your blog and hope I could move to a smaller place soon and live simple.
    Kudos
    Regards
    Shilpa

  12. I was to happy to find your website. I had 3 boys in 21 months (twins, second). We attachment parented, co-slept, breastfed forever (all 3 at once for a while!), cloth diapered and ate natural, homemade food. They are now 26 and 24 and the most amazing young men. Thanks for taking me back. Sometimes, I forget our wonderful time back then, with all of us being so busy!
