Summer Links--Week Eight

It has been so much fun looking through the various "Summer Links" submitted to the All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer.  I thought it would be fun to pick a few of my favorite links from the previous week and highlight them each Sunday (I normally don't blog on Sundays, so this would be short and sweet!)

We have enjoyed the book How Groundhog's Garden Grewin the past, so we were happy to see
All Things Beautiful's post on this very book!

Here is the LINK to our little activities we did with the book waaaay back in Feb 2011--
Groundhog's Day!

Gina, from famiglia&seoul, had a great summer post about herb playdough!
I think, come the next rainy day, we will make lavender playdough!

If you have spent any time looking around my blog, you know we LOVE nature walks!
Most every week, you will see shots like this~

Our Montessori Way has a post of 7 Nature Walks to Take With Kids.
I think we will incorporate of few of these into our daily walks!

Sunnydaytodaymama had a lot of fun with a mini sandpit.  Her son had great fun with dino excavations, making beach scenes, and finding all sorts of buried treasures!

We (myself and all the co-hosts) would love if you'd join us in this fun sharing of summer ideas!  Be sure to visit my All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer Page (at the top of my my blog) and link up all your fun summer posts!!

Summer Links--Week Six

It has been so much fun looking through the various "Summer Links" submitted to the All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer.  I thought it would be fun to pick a few of my favorite links from the previous week and highlight them each Sunday (I normally don't blog on Sundays, so this would be short and sweet!)

I keep forgetting to do this with our Playschool children... sipping honeysuckle!
All Things Beautiful has a little tutorial in case you are blessed to have honeysuckle and somehow missed this Summer Bucket List item!

Mama Pea Pod has a great Magnifying Glass Activity that must go on our "do soon" list!

There were several great ideas for celebrating the Summer Solstice.  We did nothing in the way of celebrating... because *I* thought the baby would be born that day, so I didn't plan ahead for any related activities! haha

Love in the Suburbs has several fun ideas, such as baking this sun bread!

We (myself and all the co-hosts) would love if you'd join us in this fun sharing of summer ideas!  Be sure to visit my All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer Page (at the top of my my blog) and link up all your fun summer posts!!

I really like the birdseed ornaments made by Tea for Monkeys!   Great idea!

I have a thing for dragonflies.  All Things Beautiful shows how to make one from a twig and maple leaf !

I am pretty sure our playschool children would love it if we made butter like A Moment in Our World!

And lastly, because how could I not love a blog post that includes a bunnies and a squirrel? Famiglia&seoul bring us The Bunny Bistro!

Summer Links--Week Three!!

We LOVE watermelon!  It has been the only "Send The Hubs to the store NOW" craving I have had!  Sooo when I saw this recipe for Watermelon Slushie, I knew it was a keeper!

Reading is one of our very favorite things to do!

Here are two great lists, which include many books we have enjoyed and some new ones, as well!

For the younger crowd: 16 Delightful Summertime Books

And for the slightly older child or as read alouds to younger: Summer Reading List ..which just happens to include The Chronicles of Narnia... my all time favorite books.  I was four years old, the 1st time my mama read these books to us!  Loved them then and love them now!

Each week, we seem to find little critters that the children think they must hold.. salamanders, slugs, centipedes...

So it seemed very familiar when Rainy Day Mum had some fun with snails!

Summer Links~Week Two

It has been so much fun looking through the various "Summer Links" submitted to the All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer.  I thought it would be fun to pick a few of my favorite links from the previous week and highlight them each Sunday (I normally don't blog on Sundays, so this would be short and sweet!)

Our mud volcanos were a huge hit--

but... sometimes we want to be less involved and allow the children to "do their own thing". Setting up this Mini Volcano Experience has been added to the lst of "must-dos" this summer!

This is an amazing, magical idea that I intend to use!  I am thinking a beach theme to start with... and maybe some windchimes!  Go take a look at the Magic Tree!

We LOVE watermelon.. at 35 weeks pregnant, I not only eat a lot of watermelon... but look like I swallowed one whole LOL, so this "Watermelon" Dessert appeals to me. A lot!

What child doesn't LOVE dandelions.. and over the years I have grown to love them too.. (Or maybe regained my love for them!)

So when Sunnydaytodaymama had this great  Dandelion Post, I knew I'd love it!!!  I am looking forward to painting with the playschool children soon!

Summer Links!

Since we have blueberries a few weeks shy of being ripe, I really like this link: 30 Ways to Eat Blueberries!

In our Playschool, we like teaching Fine Arts, so this link really drew my attention: Kids Get Arty with Van Gogh!

Here are some examples of Fine Arts in our Playschool!

What could be yummier that homemade, healthier-than-store-bought, popsicles?!  Home-made Ice-lollies shares a few great recipes. I wonder if I could tweak it and use organic yogurt?  Bet so!

I bet if you have visited my blog more than a time or two, I don't need to explain why I like this post: Creeking!

And last, for this week, Galaxy Glitter Playdough (with glass pebbles) which reminds me of our White Glitter "cloud" Playdough with blue glass pebble "raindrops"!
