This month we are having fun with "winter"... winter books, winter crafts, winter play.....
Wednesday and Thursday, we read the beautiful book of Robert Frost's poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Gorgeous illustrations!
On Wednesday, after reading the poem, the children painted wooden snowflakes, using either glitter paint (the youngers) or acrylic paint and then glitter (the olders).
Thursday, they painted "snow" with Q-tips and then added in snowmen with various sized round paint sponges.
Friday, we read The Story of the Snow Children ... such a sweet book, written in the early 1900's. Then the children did a little craft. I bought these at Target's $ Spot for 30cents a set.. set included a large snowman (maybe 18 inches tall) and a large amount of stickers to dress them up.. enough for front ans back and leftovers. Good deal!!
