The weekend holds a special magic for our little family. Sundays most of all. We keep us busy having fun. On days when the grey clouds promise rain, and the house is clean(ish), we often try out new things.
I found this recipe for salt dough on Pinterest, and was waiting for a day to try it out.
1 cup plain flour
1 cup salt
1/2 cup water
Bake in oven at 200 for 3 hours
Easy peasy!
After Bunny and I measured and mixed it all up, she had a great time just squeezing and playing in the dough. We added a few small toys to keep it interesting.
The last things we added were some colorful beads.
When all was said and done, Bunny and Squirrel each made a hand print and we baked it.
It turned out pretty good!
I am not really sure what to do with it though. Any ideas?

Oh, I love the last photo of the impression of her hands!
ReplyDeleteVisiting you while bloghopping. Do visit my blog when you get a chance!
sweet those two little hands together. Perhaps make a hole in the top, thread string through and hang it up somewhere? I made similar little hand prints with the Apple Blossom kids a while back and they hung on our pin up board for a long while
ReplyDeleteYou could get a spring back plate holder and hang it on the wall. You definitely need to put it somewhere you can see and enjoy it everyday.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome idea! I cant wait to do it with my toddler!! I am now following! I found you over on the too cute tuesday hop.Would love it if you would visit me at www.battlingthehomefront.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! I will stop over at your blog asap :)
DeleteHow fun! My kids and I made hand prints too last week! I was thinking i could seal them with waterproof sealer and put them as markers in my garden.
ReplyDeleteOh good idea! I think I'll hang this one, but what a great gift idea gor grandparents!
ReplyDeleteProp it up on a small easel. It would look sweet on a shelf with some other "little people" things.
ReplyDeleteThat's it! Perfect! Thanks!
DeleteIts very nice. We do salt dough from time to time, but I find that no matter how much I bake them, they end up turning mushy after a few days.Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteCute! You could put it in the garden? I love the hand prints. Stopping by from Crafty Moms Share. Hope to see you at True Aim!
