Crafting Along

No sewing this week and maybe not even next week... but lots and lots of crafting going on here.  Over the past couple of years, The Hubs and I have made and even sold a few little "un toys": play silks, ribbon runners, beech tree blocks, and little wooden lacing beads.  We had been toying (tehehe) with the idea of making several and then selling them on Etsy.  Recently a friend of ours asked if we were interested in selling a few of them at a craft show.  She already had a table and was going to be there selling her own products, so we wouldn't have to even be there!  So THAT is what we have been up to!

The plan is to make up several of the items, offer for them for sale, and when they are gone, they are gone.  I am not planning to do "custom orders" at this time.  With two little ones, working at our Playschool, helping start up the local Birth Circle meet-ups, and all the things that being a mama, wife, homemaker emcompass, I just don't feel like we are able to produce things as they are ordered.  I do feel like we can make a few here and there and then offer them for sale!

Play Silks in a variety of colors (which I do custom dye when the customer chooses their color/color combo)

I just might perfect my leather crown and made a few of them to sell, as well.

  3. I came to check out what some ideas of un-toys are, is there any real difference between Waldorf Toys and Un-Toys? They look very similar to me I was just wondering what the philosphy difference behind the two are and yes I love the little leather crown, too cute!!!
