An Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ April 15th-19th

We had another gorgeous spring week!

I mentioned to the children that we could do a "project" outside and they were thrilled!
They love "projects"!

I told them we would need several daffodils, so they headed off to collect a few.

We gathered our supplies.

I showed the children how the stem of the flower looked like a straw!

I next asked them to drink water through straws.

I then added food coloring to the jars.

Sorry... but the after pics will have to wait until next week!

Another spring art project was a Spring Flower "Pounding".
Using dandelions and violets, the children used a rolling pin to smash the flowers.
"And it made the juices come out on my paper" to quote one child!

Four out of five days, the children were able to play outside!
And play they did!

"I am a paleontologist and I found a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull."

While taking turns holding the frog, it got loose and the children were giddy!

Big excitement!  Blossoms on the pear trees and the first gold finnches of the year!

A good week, indeed!

  12. What a great time your children must have had with this. The photos tell it all. There's so much of God's big world to explore. What interesting ways you used to highlight that.

  13. Oh, what a wonderful week. I love the idea of the pounding flowers. Not sure my daughter will sacrifice any of the dandelions or violets to try it though. Thank you for sharing on Sharing Saturday!

  16. That looks like such a nice day. I didn't realize daffodils had hollow stems. We've had a few nice days, but I could use some more sun.
