Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ Summer Camp ~ Frogs

This week was all about frogs
We catch several frogs each week, so this was a natural topic of interest for the children!

We had recently bought some "Montessori-style" frog materials.  The children loved working with them!  The younger ones matched the plastic frogs to the correct picture.

The older children started off with the same exerise and the advanced to matching the name labels as well.  They were then able to check their own work with the labeled chart.

After reading the book From Tadpole to Frog,
we spent some time observing and feeding our own little tadpoles.

Since it was raining on Tuesday, we had to have Project Time inside.
We made the life cycle of a frog.
First the children sponge painted their cardstock to make water.
We used plastic packing bubbles as eggs

Finger prints with a tail became tadpoles.
The children the colored printed froglets and frogs!

Wednesday, we were happy to be able to have Project Time outside, again!
The children painted wooden frogs!

No week would be complete without a visit to the garden!
Carrots, peas, broccoli, and onions were munched on right then and there!

Creek Play is a must as well!
The cry "snake" went out, so Hannah hurried to check it out... it must have moved on.
(who can blame it--a band of loud, splashing children would scare most every living thing away!)

Thursday, we managed to get outside for an hour in between storms.

Best buddies scrubbing off together!

It was a good, good week!
