Rabbity

We recently added three more critters to our back yard farm..

A mama angora rabbit and her two half breed babies!

We have been having a great time learning about them and taking care of them.

The poor mama was matted up pretty bad, so she took some work to get nice and fluffy again.

We are excited to watch them grow and hopefully get some rabbit wool from the mama in a couple of months. I am looking into a drop spindle to spin my own yarn!

I am sure you will see more of our fine furry friends here in the future.

In other back yard farm news, our ducks laid their first eggs!
More on that later.

  6. I am so glad to finaly see the fur kins and see what you had to work out with the angora... wow I can see where you had to trim her way down great job.. the babies are look like they will not have as long of hair I am not sure if that is a good thing or not? If you want fiber you may have to find another Angora and breed you a couple. Hope you think about getting the girls in 4-h the mama would be a great show animal.
