An Enchanted Childhood~ Daycare: April 11-15

This past week, we were all about birds and nests and eggs!  We read Tweddle Dee Dee and then made a "Bird Nest Helper"  We used a metal suet cake holder and filled it with yarn, string, dried grass and hung it in a tree.  Birds are able to swoop down and pull out the items to help them in their nest building.

We spent some time water-color painting a nest picture as well as an egg development chart. We talked about our incubating eggs and what stage they were at in their growth.

Another great book we read was Wild Birds.  After reading it and IDing several birds, the children made handprint birds, choosing the bird they wanted to make.
