Heart Warming

As some of you might have noticed, it is now November. Every morning, there is a layer of glistening frost on the grass. Every evening, it gets dark a little bit sooner. And getting dressed takes an extra layer and a little bit longer than it did just a short time ago. Bunny's woolens have proven to be an excellent investment as I have been trying to find the perfect balance of warm enough, but not too hot of clothing for Bunny.

This is a list of what we wear in our central WV climate. Always be sure to add extras if it is rainy, cloudy, windy, or if fingers are cold to the touch.

Warmth from head to toe:

Fall through Spring~ Inside

~65* (our regular indoor temp)
  • Woolsilk undershirt (Cotton, if I have washed the woolsilk one and it is laying out to dry.)
  • Cotton Long sleeved shirt.
  • Long pants
  • Cotton socks

  • Wool sweater
  • Cotton long johns
  • Long pants.
  • Wool socks

~50*- ~
  • Wool hood ( I love that it comes down around her cheeks and neck, so there is no need for a scarf)
  • Woolsilk undershirt
  • Cotton long sleeved shirt
  • Wool sweater
  • Wool mittens
  • Cotton long johns
  • Long pants.
  • Wool socks
  • Boots
 ~45*- ~

If the temp is below 35*, we do not usually venture out into the bitter cold. If I got up the courage to, Bunny would probably wear all of the above, plus a second layer of long johns and socks.

Click here for my post on Bunny's woolens, and where I bought them.

I bought Bunny these boots, since her knock-off crocs were letting her feet get wet and cold (even with two pairs of socks). She cannot walk well at all in rain boots but she does great in these. Our newest little boy, Izaac, who is 21 months old, had the same issue with rain boots and these (he has the same ones in a different color) work great for him too.
