Baking has become a favorite thing to do while Baby Squirrely is napping.
On Friday, we made a big batch of Baked Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal for Papa to have for his breakfasts before going to work.
Bunny loves to help me mix and is learning how to crack eggs.
Speaking of eggs, look at the difference between store bought eggs and our own chicken eggs.
Our are still small, but what beautiful golden yolks!
It is very exciting that our chickens are finally starting to lay.
We are hoping to start selling eggs very soon.
Here is our recipe:
5 cups rolled oats
2.5 cups of milk
4 eggs
1 Tb cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
4 Tb oil (coconut or olive is what we use)
2 cored apples - diced
*all our ingredients are organic, but you can use non-organic
Mix together and pour into an ungreased 9 X 13 baking dish or cake pan.
Sprinkle the top with cinnamon.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Serve hot or cold, dry or with milk on top.
A yummy breakfast for a crisp fall morning.
